This is a large and heavy book, so please be aware of delivery costs. The binding has come loose, with both upper and lower boards detached. The close up of the title panel shows that there is some loss of gilt. The free front end paper is also loose, and its edges are shabby. This copy is worth restoring because it is complete. After the free front end paper, there is a blank page, the title page, the four pages of the publisher's note to the reader, the 50 pages of text (which are erratic at page numbers 23 and 31 - but total the correct number of 50) with the 3 plates of inscriptions plus the 57 numbered plates, of which the first plate, a folding panorama, is unfortunatly torn into two parts - an image is provided showing the place where it was torn. The plates are mostly clean and an image is provided showing the one with the worst spotting/foxing. The front paste down has the book plate of Baron Hambro, who was born Carl Joachim Hambro, founded the Hambros Bank, lived at Milton Abbey in Dorset and was made a baron by King Frederick of Denmark.
