Decorative gilt design on the front board only, head/heel/corners and edges are a bumped and rubbed, some marks on the front/back boards, also has a small dent on the bottom/front board.
190 sketches and portraits: the collected works of this South African political artist/cartoonist W. H. Schröder, includes a fine portrait of Kruger & other South African celebrities 1869-92 & a few facsimile letters (Kruger, Rhodes, Leyds), 2 portraits of the artist & a memoir by Charles Cowen, Mendelssohn II.
Front hinge cracked internally and marks/tears on the front endpapers, overall, the book and the binding are in very good condition.
