How it works

Book Description: 8vo; 4987 pages. Hardcover. Original binding of black cloth with gilt lettering to spines. Top page edges tinted red. Patterned endpapers. Illustrated with maps.

Book Condition: Top page red-tinted edges faded, otherwise all volumes in very good condition throughout. Sporadic foxing throughout the six volumes. Owner\'s name penned to front loose eps of the first four volumes. Spine faded, somewhat tatty dustjackets, three of which (vols. IV, V and VI) are suffering some some paper loss to the spines.

6 volumes (complete) all 1st editions:

volume I \'The Gathering Storm\' (1948), volume II \'Their Finest Hour\' (1949), volume III \'The Grand Alliance\' (1950), volume IV \'The Hinge of Fate\' (1951), volume V \'Closing the Ring\' (1952) and volume VI \'Triumph and Tragedy\' (1954).

Winston Churchill\'s unparalled account of World War II. Not only Britain\'s wartime leader whose perspective was unrivalled, but also one of the finest prose writers of the twentieth century.
