The South African Question by An English South-African (Olive Schreiner) 24 page pamphlet in the original buff printed wrappers. Reprinted from the South African News.

Olive Schreiner's appeal on the "eve" of the Anglo-Boer War. The text is the same as that in "An Englishman's View of the Situation" published the same year by Hodder & Stoughton and also published that year in the US by Charles Sergel as "The South African Question". It would appear that this pamphlet was the first printing preceding the UK and US editions. It is the scarcest format of the three.

Pages have browned, small tear to title page, stains on front cover and edges of first pages, outside cover laminated.
