24pp. pamphlet in the original buff printed wraps. Reprinted from the South African News. Price Sixpence. Olive Schreiner's appeal on the "eve" of the Boer War. The text is the same as that in "An Englishman's View of the Situation" published the same year by Hodder & Stoughton and also published that year in the US by Charles Sergel as "The South African Question". It would appear that this pamphlet was the first printing preceding the UK and US editions. It is certainly the scarcest format of the three.

The original wraps are browned as always and a little brittle with frayed edges and some short tears and chips extending on to the margins of the pages. The spine has been reinforced/backed with book cloth (see images). Protected in a supplied glassine dustwrapper.
