How it works

The South African Yearbook, 1903-4, is published with far greater confidence than was the first issue for 1902-3, in view especially of the gratifying reception accorded by the Press and public alike to the initial effort, and also in the knowledge that the success of any volume of reference can only be measured by general recognition of its usefulness.

In this edition no pains or expense have been spared to remedy the defects of the 1902-3 issue. The whole of the information has been carefully revised, and numerous important additions have been made. It will be observed that the present volume is characterised by several new features, not the least interesting of these being the sections devoted to brief biographical sketches of prominent South Africans(see "Men of Note"), and to the Civil Service Lists of the different Colonies. It rests with others, however, to decide whether the arduous labour of compilation is justified by the result.

Original dark red boards, guilt blocking, crown vignette 1903-4 to front board, and gilt lettering to spine. Rear board with advertising in with black lettering....xxix plus 878 pages text with supporting, illustrations, tables, charts and maps. With numerous advertisements.

Hinges tender. Some fading effect to boards. Very clean copy.
