The authorised government gazette for the Transvaal

3 incomplete volumes simply bound in cardboard covers with a grey cloth spine with no titles on the upper covers. They were published daily, each issue consisting of 4 pages. They are in good condition considering their age.

Contents include:

December 1899. The first issue is torn, further pages have been simply repaired with cellotape throughout in the middle of the page. The paper is fragile, but the contents are legible.Missing issues: 4,5 13, 15, 16, 20, 22 and 26 December

February 1900; Several pages with a slight tear simply repaired with cellotape. Missing issues: 13,14,17,20,21,26,27 February

March 1900: There is a large water stain at the top of the front cover.Missing issues: 9,12,14,15, 20,23 March.

Pages 3 and 4 of each issue of the Evening Edition cover the Latest War Intelligence in detail.

This newspaper was printed and published by Mendelssohn and Bruce Limited at the steam printing works Standard and Diggers News Building Commissioner and Rissik Streets Johannesburg.
