Second edition:  Three volumes: 400, 294 & 362 pages, 53 engraved plates – including 7 hand coloured plates and seven in sepia, full crimson morocco, with gilt decoration on the covers and on the spines in panels, contrasting title labels, inner gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers (bookplate oneach front paste-down endpaper), all edges gilt. Some very light foxing and wear at the corners. A very good set.

First published in 1851, Ruskin expands on his earlier work in The Seven Lamps of Architecture. He examines the Venetian architecture of the Byzantine, Gothic and Renaissance periods as well as giving a general history of the city.
