New edition:346 pages + 2 pages publisher's catalogue, frontispiece portrait of Olive Schreiner, original green cloth - titled gilt on the upper cover with decorative gilt and the title and Olive Schreiner's name on the spine, uncut edges, owners name dated 1897 on the half-title page, starting to wear at the hinges, a good copy.
The Story of an African Farm' was first published in two volumes in 1883 under the pseudonym Ralph Iron. It was reissued in 1887 with Olive Schreiner's name appearing in brackets after Ralph Iron on the title page and with her name in gilt on the spine.
This edition appears to have been published in 1897 where the publisher's catalogue includes new novels by Cleeve and Vane - both published 1897.
