The complete story of the L.M.S. up to 1904. Founded in 1795, the Society had deployed more than a thousand Missionaries by 1897. This volume has four chapters on South and Central Africa and Madagascar. The men of the L.M.S. influenced the course of history wherever they settled. The S.A. chapter has references to Van der Kemp, Bethelsdorp, Moffat, Bechuanas, Matabele and Bushmen. Other topics include Dr. Livingstone, the Slave Trade, lakes Nyasa and Tanganyika. An interesting and uncommon book.
