Black cloth covers with the title in golden gilt to the spine. 84 pages. Presentation copy to RCR Meienier by the author dated 1989. The dust jacket has paper loss at front bottom edge. A good copy.

Mr. Roberts put down the first borehole in the Orange Free State in 1932. When the borehole reached a depth 4046 feet, a number of gold reefs were intersected, including the Gold Estate Reef. A second borehole led to the discovery of another payable reef, the Basal Reef, which was at a shallower depth.
