1901 second impression. The first edition was also issued in 1901. Bound in cloth with wear to edges. The spine has been taped to this copy and would probably like a rebound touch. 241 pages. Fold-out map at rear and uncut page edges.
General Colvile landed at Cape Town on November 15, 1899, and left the same night for Lord Methuen's headquarters, being present at the Battle of Belmont, but not at Magersfontein. He was appointed to the command of the newly organized Ninth Division and remained in charge of it until it was disbanded. The force took part in the batlles of Paardeberg, Poplar Grove and Sanna's Post; and in the forward march of Lord Roberts through the Free State and the Transvaal. (Mendelssohn)
