Edited by by Alfred W. Polland. Illustrations from the Ellesmere Chaucer, hand-coloured illustrations and decorations by Hugh Chesterman and Lynton Lamb. Lettering and headings designed by Jocelyne V. Gaskin, paragraph marks done by hand in red and blue ink throughout. Printed in red, blue and black. Printed in Caslon Old Face type on Batchelor's Kelmscott handmade paper by Bernard Newdigate. Publisher's printed notice in Vol. I; extra title labels at rear of each volume. Original cream linen spines over blue paper covered boards; red & black printed title labels on spines. A lovely set. Titles in the set include: The Canterbury Tales (3 volumes); The Parson's Tale (also part of Canterbury Tales) and Minor Poems; Boecii de Consolacione Philosophie; Troilus and Criseyde; The House of Fame and Minor Poems; and The Romant of the Rose. paragraph marks done by hand in red and blue ink throughout.
