Eight essays and four appendices written by Olive Schreiner concerned with the nature of South Africa and the relationships between Boers, Englishmen, Black and Brown people and the problem involved in forming a harmonious and united nation. Schreiner foresees the developments that led to the Boer War. Africana Reprint Library Volume Ten, 1976 facsimile reproduction of the 1923 edition, with new Foreword and illustrations. New colour tissue-guarded frontispiece. Many illustrations. Pages [i-vi]vii-xxii pp[1-6]7-398. Dust Jacket in Very Good condition, jacket illustration from an oil by Thomas Baines, near Grahamstown, 1849. The Book is in Very Good condition.
