Has occasional light pencilled margin notes and underlining. Pages xv + 30 + unpagenited adverts following. This pamphlet has been reset with the exception of the title page, the photograph of Lamb and pp 31-38, which are reproduced in facsimile. In typesetting, certain conventions of the period have been observed to retain the character of the original. Editing has been limited to the correction of obvious typographical errors. FORTY YEARS IN NATAL - Reminiscences of a Colonist: Pamphlet Series Limited edition facsimile reprint #86 of 150. Publ 1989. Owner's signature to i/s front wrap.Originally published in 1891, with the exception that the front cover being included in the pagination this is an exact facsimile and with the addition of a new introduction by Grant Christison. 13pp of text based on a lecture delivered before the Bellair Literary and Political Association. NOTES ON NATAL: An Old Colonist's Book for New Settlers: State Library Reprint Series #11 publ 1967. New blue rexine spine and eps. Paperblock trimmed. Marbled paper covered board is scarred at front lower area adjacent to spine tape and in a similar but larger patch (2cm x 6cm) on back board. A facsimilie edition of the original and rare 1872 publication. Pages xxxiv + 240 including advertisements. Internally clean and tightly bound. Reportedly this edition was limited to 100 copies although not stated herein.
