II. 405, 16 pages of publisher's catalogue, lithographic frontispieces in each volume (hand coloured in volume I ('Cambo'), lithographic title pages with vignettes (with the imprint of the lithographer Day & Haghe), 49 lithographic plates and maps - some coloured and some folding), many wood-engraved sketches in the text, large folding map of the South East Portion of Australia - the coastline hand coloured in blue and the routes indicated in red - at the end of volume I, half-title page in volume I, original blind-stamped straight-grained cloth, spines gilt titled and decorated, neatly recased - new front free endpaper in volume II, title page in volume I foxed, a number of the other plates are foxed - the coloured plates seem less affected, the text is bright, edges uncut.
Inscription on the front free endpaper of volume I reads, 'To Sir Charles Brooke Vere Bart. M.P. from the Author.'
The frontispiece and plate 40, The Yarrayne River in volume II have been supplied from the second edition of 1839.
