Czech (Dr Kenneth) An annotated Bibliography of African Big Game hunting Books, 1785 to 1999, page 282: Sampson Low apparently published 4 editions in 1885, all the same. One of the great African travel epics, this title details the author's trek from the coast toward Mt Kilimanjaro, then through Masia Land. Near Lake Chala, he bagged several rhino and buffalo in close encounters, and buffalo again in the Lykipia Forest. One of those excellent engravings depicts Thomson thrown into the air by a charging buffalo, Near lake Baringo, he collected a new species of gazelle - afterwards christened with his name, and bagged elephant and buffalo.
