First Edition, Hardcover Octavo bound in red cloth boards and has 274 pages (pages 94 to 100 have staining).

Gilt titles on the front board and to the spine, head/heel are bumped/rubbed and worn, corners are slightly bent, the spine is a bit sunned and the back board also has some staining.

The book consists of twenty four black and white illustrations (plates) and a frontispiece (The Victoria Falls) with a tissue guard. Inscribed by the author on the front paste-down, offsetting can be seen on the front/back paste-downs, some foxing throughout.

Overall, the binding is tight, pages are secure and the book is in good condition.
