J.J. Kicherer (1775-1825) was ordained as a minister in Holland in 1798. By 1799 he was ministering to Khoisan in the Karoo and also travelling north to Klaarwater and Kuruman and beyond. After his return from Europe in 1806, he was appointed minister in the N.G. Kerk in Graaff-Reinet until 1815. Thereafter he served in Tulbagh until his death.
