A careful analysis of event is used to show up the aggressive stance of the British Colonial Government officials and the premeditated and planned nature of the Jameson Raid. In the part of the book headed Aanteekeningen en Ophelderingen, copies of official documents are given, including proclamations, and open letters from the Transvaal to Joseph Chamberlain (Colonial Secretary) and Queen Victoria, with a view to stating the honest and justifiable aspirations of the Transvaal people.
