Later three quarter green leather binding with gilt titling on the spine, raised bands and green pebble grained cloth. Decorated end papers. W.H. Coetzer book plate on the front paste down. xvi prelims, 509 pages, linen backed folding map, 5 black and white full page engravings with tissue guards, including frontis.

CONDITION DETAILS: The binding is still firm and tight but there is some wear and the spine has sun fading. There are several pencil notes and annotations, especially on the blank pages. The foxing/spotting is more severe on the first few pages and also occurs on the plates.
