2 Volume Set. Original brown leather spines with gilt titling and paper covered boards. Top edges the same colour as the paper boards. Volume one has xiii prelims, 258 pages, large fold out map, 25 illustrations taken from the 1868 edition and from Thomas Baines' 1864 "Explorations in South West Africa."
Volume 2 has xiii prelims, 244 pages, 23 illustrations from both Chapman and Baines plus 7 reproductions of black and white photographs taken by James Chapman during his expedition to the Zambezi with Thomas Baines in 1860-63.
CONDITION DETAILS: A clean set with a few signs of use such as light soil marks on the obverse of volume one's binding and a scuff mark on the upper board, but overall a clean set.
