Two Volumes. Facsimile reprint limited to 1000 numbered copies. These volumes are numbered 669.

Dark brown cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. Covers in very good condition, no bumping or wear to corners or surfaces. Top and front page edges slightly spotted. Some foxing spots on endpapers. Otherwise book is clean and fold-out maps are undamaged but have some foxing on front fold edges.

Volume 1 has 10 plates, a map and 50 vignettes. Volume 2 has 6 plates, 46 vignettes.

Vol. 1 has, in addition to the facsimile of Burchell's travels, a frontispiece portrait of Burchell, a new introduction by A. Gordon-Brown, a report given by Burchell before a select committee of the House of Commons on the Poor Laws, Burchell's "Hints on Emigration to the Cape of Good Hope" and reviews and replies concerning this pamphlet. There is also a list of Burchell's publications and Principal Sources of information.
