London: Printed for G.G.J. and J. Robinson, 1790. In two volumes. Translated from the French of M. le Vaillant. Illustrated with twelve elegant copper-plates.  2 volumes: I. xii, 395; II. 403 pages, 12 engraved plates – 2 folding (including the plate at page 350 in volume II of ‘A Hottentot woman’ which is sometime referred to as the ‘suppressed’ plate), no half title pages as called for, ‘Directions to Binder’ at page 404 in volume II, recased in three quarter leather with black title labels on spines. The cloth has minor flecks. Untrimmed, offsetting from frontispiece to title page, some dampstains to the first gathering of the first volume, minor foxing to the plates. Ogilvie (J.H.)
