The Trees of Central Africa are among the outstanding glories of its Territories, and represents a lifetime of work, and a labour of love of nature by Mrs. Olive H. Coates Palgrave. This is the first publication by the National Publications Trust, a body formed in 1954, for the purpose of presenting, from time to time, books such as this. The Trust has received gratifying support and subscriptions from many individuals and organisations. In order to bring the work within the limit of one volume, a selection has been made of 110 indigenous trees of Central Africa, each of which is illustrated in colour.
