How it works

Register

3 volumes, 2235 pages continuously paginated, double page map, 24 colour plates, illustrated throughout with black & white photographs, quarter brown leather with marbled boards, a very good set.

No. 59 of the de luxe edition limited to 200 copies and signed by Eve Palmer

A.A. Balkema adopted the old fashioned method of publishing and selling the three volumes separately rather than all at once, as would be the practice today. Consequently a number of buyers were not able to obtain complete sets of the standard edition at the time and much annoyance was caused by this. The de luxe editions in the special brown or blue leather bindings were, however, issued together as sets.
