There were two first editions printed in 1947. The true first had no title on the spine whereas the subsequent version had the title and the author's name printed on the spine. This one has the title to the spine and is therefore the subsequent edition.
A thoroughly delightful and beautifully written book. There are 12 headings/'chapters' consisting of mainly short factual stories and prose. The author mentions the primary conservancies that contain some 48 officially recognised trout streams in Natal. Also contains many useful tips on fly selection, cooking tips, and even a chapter on angler's wives (these days known as 'SWAMBO's' - She who always must be obeyed)
