First published in 1895 a leisurely journey from Kimberley to Umtali undertaken by the author and three companions. Extremely readable with many impressions of early Rhodesian personalities; 265pp. with folding map at rear.
Condition: red boards with gilt decorations and spine title, very good condition, light scattered foxing on the end-papers, page edges yellowed, contents clean and bright, no inscriptions. The dust-jacket has a faded spine, with light chipping at spine ends and edges, some light mottled patches of moth activity on front panel, not price-clipped.
The Author: Alice Blanche Balfour, sister of Arthur James Balfour who became Prime Minister of England and later the 1st Earl Balfour.
