Re-cased, retaining most of the original dark maroon coloured cloth with gilt titling on the spine. New end papers. No half title page. xi prelims, 307 pages, only 61 of the 64 black and white illustrations are present. CONDITION DETAILS: There is no half title and the frontis illustration has been reinforced on the reverse side. Several signs of use and age, such as some edge wear on a few of the plates, indicating that they had come loose, but have now been firmly replaced, so that the book is tight and solid after having been re-cased. Since three of the illustrations are missing, this is merely a reading copy.
