Being the diary of Lieut. Moeller

With a Memoir by Lieut. - Col L.R.C. Boyle

Illustrated

First edition: frontispiece portrait of the author, 6 sketch maps - 2 folding, the map opposite page 90 has a small tear at the top, 1 photogravure plate, original olive green cloth boards over bevelled edges- the boards are insect scarred, top edge gilt, others uncut, titled gilt on the spine, foxing mainly on the page edges, a good copy.

Extracted from the preface: The following diary of two years' service at the front in South Africa, ended in the lamented death of its writer, was penned by Lieutenant Bertie Moeller for his parents' perusal alone - jotted down in the midst of warfare, often in the saddle or on the veldt, without the benefit of hindsight - and is only now published in response to the solicitations of friends and comrades.
