The author was Consultant Physician to the Kampala Hospital and to the C.M.S. Mango Hospital and includes material on safari life. This is the autobiography of the legendary doctor Albert Cook of Uganda, immortalized by J.A. Hunter in his books AFRICAN BUSH ADVENTURES and TALES FROM THE AFRICAN FRONTIER. Dr. Cook was dedicated to the lives of the poor Africans, and he walked hundreds of miles through the bush, to treat the native patients who were otherwise deprived of any medical help. Dr. Cook eventually established some of the best hospitals in Africa. The book contains interesting account of big game hunting.
