This publication forms part of the commemoration of the SA Defence Force's 75th anniversary. At the creation of the Union Defence Force (presently the SA Defence Force) on 1st July 1912, units such as the Cape Field Artillery, Natal Field Artillery, Transvaal Horse Artillery and Cape Garrison Artillery already existed. They were among the first units to be absorbed into the Union Defence Force. It is therefore dedicated to every member of the SA Defence Force who played a role in maintaining the high reputation of the South African Artillery and Anti-Aircraft Artillery during the last 75 years.
