Very good publisher’s original dark red imitation leather covers with gilt titles on the front cover. Slight fading to the right edge of the front cover. Light wear on the spine and the corners. Light browning/toning to the front and rear end papers. Some foxing on the title page The illustrations and text are in very good condition with no foxing, marks it other blemishes. The illustrations are on each right hand page and a short description of the scene appears on the left hand page. Views include: Cape Town and Table Mountain; Adderley Street Looking Up; Adderley Street Looking Down; The Molento Reservoir; De Waal's Park; The Twelve Apostles from Victoria Road; Kalk Bay; Little Paradise: Newlands; The Avenue: Bishop's Court; The Fisheries: Table Bay; The Shipping from Central Wharf; The Docks: Landing Quay for Mail-Boats,
Scarce. No other copies currently offered for sale nor can I locate copies in any library.
Place of publication not indicted but I assume that it was published and printed in Cape Town. No date but style of binding and contents of the illustrations indicate that this was probably published in the 1890s.
