The chapters in the section on the Americas include sugar cane, cotton, Mexico, California, Panama, Araucania, Guayana, Brasil, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile and Patagonia. The scarce coloured version, the tinted lithographs being finely coloured by hand (less scarce edition of this work has a black & white engravings). Not in Ferguson.

Brown cloth with fine morocco spine gilt-decorated in compartments. All page edges gilt. Silk endpapers; Collation complete - 292 pages, including 16 coloured lithographed plates; Text in French; The binding is tight and firm, a bit scuffed. Corners bumped. Text block/pages in very good condition, with scattered foxing, some age-toning and a bit of wetting. Color lithographed engravings are in excellent condition, being finely coloured by hand.
