Czech (Dr. Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785-1999 page 135: One of the more difficult African big game books to locate despite its relatively recent publication date, this was J.A. Hunter's first. He relates his experiences hunting lion, elephant, buffalo and rhino primarily in Kenya, with interesting chapters on encounters with snakes and crocodiles. "It was a hard life, but kept you fit, and there was always the expectancy of shooting something really big." He concludes with two chapters on selecting rifles, and was a proponent of large calibers with 'shocking' power, especially when a client's well being was at stake.
