Ex-library copy: 318 pages, 28 hand coloured lithographic plates after J. Smith, other illustrations in the text, errata slip tipped-in opposite page 1, original green cloth faded and frayed and splitting along the spine, binding loose but holding on the ties, library number taped onto the base of the spine, library bookplate on the front free endpaper – this is stamped with the withdrawn stamp of the Library of Parliament, Cape Town, and the same stamp appears on the front endpapers and final two pages (index and publisher’s imprint vignette). The text printed on coated paper and the lithographic plates are in very good condition.
