The water-colour designs were reproduced by the collotype and hand-stencil process in the workshops of the Trianon Press (France) in Paris, the texts of Gray’s poems were printed on pure rag laid paper from copperplates, using three additional printings to reproduce Blake’s pencil crosses and to obtain the tone of the paper.

The Introduction was composed in Garamond, set by hand by Drager Frères and printed by La Ruche, both of Paris. The remainder of the text was set in monotype Garamond and printed by Darantiere, Dijon. The binding was done by Engel and the portfolios, slip cases and boxed were made by Adine, both of Paris.

The book was produced and published, under the supervision of Mr. Arnold Fawcus, by the Trianon Press, Château de Boissea, Clairvaux, Jura and 125 Avenue du Maine, Paris 14e
It is distributed throughout the world by Bernard Quaritch, Ltd., London.
