The newly weds travelled by canoe down the Kunango and Kubango Rivers in Angola, hunting lion, hippo and lechwe. The Stahams eventually reached the Zambesi, but there is little description of their journey to the east coast. There are 90 pages of appendices noting the native tribes, river systems and wild game of the region.
