First edition: 408 pages, frontispiece, folding colour map, 39 plates, original blue cloth with cream inlay with gilt crest and titling on the upper cover and spine - which is starting to wear at the top and the bottom cancelled library stamps on the front pastedown endpaper and title page and library numbers in white on the spine, worn at both hinges, corners worn and slightly bumped, a good copy.

Czech (Dr. Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785 - 1999, page 185: This work describes the territory flanking the Zambesi River, with a chapter on the big game of the region, The descriptions of game are more natural history oriented but he does include several instances of hunting buffalo in the region.
