A selection of 162 rare Zulu artifacts from priavte collections worldwide.
The legendary Zulu military kingdom, developed by Shaka during the early 19th century, was formed out of a confederacy of related, subjugated and allied clans, all giving deference to a supreme commander, the Zulu king. At its peak, this military kingdom had various levels of control over 200,000 square miles, encompassing most of the region known today as KwaZulu Natal.
The famous Zulu spirtual culture has transcended British imperialism, European colonization, religious indoctrinations, even apartheid, and it is still reflected in the art and character of the modern Zulu nation
