In 1879 the British forces of Queen Victoria assisted by their African allies fought the Zulu soldiers of King Cetshwayo. The Brenthurst Library documents recorded in this volume shed valuable light as primary sources for the reasons for the war, the disaster at Isandhlwana and other issues still under debate.
