There is a genealogy at rear of the original inhabitants and their families.
A very uncommon and sought after title which deals with the history of the area north of the Magaliesberg mountains, which today roughly comprises the towns of Rustenburg and Brits in South Africa's North West Province. The region is well-known for its citrus production and platinum mines. In the past it formed part of the domain of Silkaats (Mzilikazi "Path of Blood"), a former general of Zulu king Shaka and the first king of the Ndebele, who, due to his own bloodthirstiness, was driven from the territory by the Voortrekkers.
Interestingly, and amusingly, contemporary critique on the work was directed towards the author's grammar.
This regional history predates Eric Rosenthal's work on Rustenburg, as well as Vincent Carruthers' work on the Magaliesberg.
Binding sound. Contents clean. The scarce dust jacket has a piece missing in the centre of the front panel and some age-associated edge wear.
