Association copy — distinctly inscribed with real provenance: owned by DB Reid, who recorded that he "worked closely with Bram [Fischer] as senior advocate in 1952 — a memorable experience." Reid gifted this copy to Patrick in April 2006 (inscriptions in one hand throughout).

Bram Fischer was born into one of the most prominent Afrikaner nationalist families. He turned away from privilege to fight for justice — leading the defence of Nelson Mandela and Walter Sisulu at the Rivonia Trial (1964), then lived underground before capture, a life sentence, and dying in prison in 1975.
