Mitford (Bertram)
Bertram Mitford FRGS (13 June 1855 – 4 October 1914) was an English colonial writer, novelist, essayist and cultural critic who wrote forty-four books, which are set in South Africa.
He was a contemporary of H. Rider Haggard. Bertram Mitford was born in Bath in 1855, moving to Southern Africa in 1874.
