General James Barry Munnik Hertzog (1866-1942) was a South African politician and soldier. He was a Boer general during the Second Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902) who served as the third prime minister of the Union of South Africa from 1924 to 1939. He founded the National Party in 1914 and was also the founder of the Hertzog Prize, regarded as the most prestigious award in Afrikaans literature.
All six volumes are in fine condition. Text predominantly in Afrikaans with occasional English and Dutch.
