Emil Ludwig (1881 – 1948) was a German-Swiss author, known for his biographies and study of historical "greats." (wikipedia.com). This book includes chapters on Egypt, the Nile, travels through German East Africa, British colonies in Africa, and also includes chapters on Johannesburg, a ball at the Carlton Hotel, the mining magnates of Johannesburg, and sections on Rhodesia.

Condition: Very good. Light rubbing to boards and spine, very faint marks with pen on spine, very slight bumping to corners of boards, previous owner’s signature to front pastedown, small mark with pen on front endpaper, previous owner’s stamp on front flyleaf. Text and plates are clean. Well bound.
