This is a copy of the true first edition which has the Biddles binder's credit at the bottom of the copyright page (see image).

Scarce original wrap-around band announcing this book as the winner of the 1999 Booker Prize and also that Coetzee was the first author in the world to be awarded the prize twice.

J. M. Coetzee is considered to be the most celebrated living author in the English speaking world. In 2003 he was warded the Nobel Prize for literature.
