With a Foreword by The Rt. Hon. The Earl of Lonsdale.

First edition. 260 pages and 35 pages of advertisements for gunsmiths, safari outfitters, taxidermists, etc., frontispiece, 21 illustrations, original elephant skin grained cloth with the head of an elephant in gilt on the upper cover, the gilt title on the spine has faded and is illegible, white marks on the covers ingrained probably in an attempt to cover the book, otherwise a very good copy.

Czech (Dr. Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785 – 1999, page 30: Blunt was an elephant control officer in Tanganyika, hunting primarily in the Linda Province. He details the natural history and biology of the elephant, relates his experiences as a cultivation officer and provides an excellent chapter on past and future elephant hunters. “I am sure that an elephant looks in human beings in the same way as we look on dangerous insects.” A classic of African elephant hunting.
