How it works

Register

First edition of this uncommon title comprising short stories about Kenya, the expatriates, the Maasai and the Kikuyu. Small 4to. Bound in beige cloth with green lettering. Fore and lower edges uncut. Notably, this copy is inscribed on the front free endpaper to Colonel Deneys Reitz.

The cloth binding is a little age soiled but otherwise a very good clean copy.

The author, later known as Genesta Hamilton (author of Princes of Zinj, A Stone's Throw, In the Wake of da Gama) was at the time of writing married to her second husband, "Boy" Long, a well-known member of the Happy Valley set.
