Five maps depict Voortrekker battles (Massacre at Blaauwkrantz, Death of Piet Uys, Vecht Laager, Battle of Tugela, Battle of Blood River), one map depicts Dick King's famous ride, and thirteen maps depict the various battles of the Anglo-Zulu War (Isandhlwana, Rorke's Drift, Inyezane, Intombi, Hlobane, Kambula, Gingindhlovu, Death of Prince Imperial, Ulundi).
